The Layne solids contact clarifier combines chemical addition, mixing, flocculation
and clarification functions in a single, flexible and space efficient unit. Layne
solids contact clarifiers treat suspended solids, turbidity, color, iron, metals,
hardness and minerals. Organic particulates are removed through precipitation. The
efficient design provides clarified and conditioned water that can be applied directly
to the final filters resulting in optimum plant performance and improved final water
quality.
Aeration, clarification and gravity filtration remove iron and turbidity at a 2000 gpm
plant in Keyport, New Jersey.
